What information is available?
Land Register Online provides easy access to details of more than 20 million
registered properties in England and Wales. Copies of title registers,
title plans and documents held in electronic format can be downloaded in PDF format.
The title register includes ownership details and, for most properties
which have changed hands since April 2000, the property price information.
We are unable to provide details of any properties that are not registered.
When can I obtain it?
A Property enquiry can be made daily between 7am and 12 midnight,
Monday to Saturday. This is to allow downtime for maintenance and further
development. You can browse at any time but enquiries can't currently be
placed outside these hours.
How much does it cost?
- £3 for each title register (details of each property)
- £3 for each title plan (a plan of the property)
These fees are payable online, using your credit/debit card over a secure link.

- want to find out who owns a specific property

What property details can I obtain?
The title register information will generally include:
- a description of the property
- who owns it
- mortgage Lender (if any)
- price paid/value stated (if registered since 1st April 2000)
- rights of way (not public rights of way) or other rights affecting the property
- restrictions or other conditions
The details held by the Land Registry are updated following the
receipt of an application at the appropriate local office. For
guidance, this can be up to a few months after a property transaction.

Can anyone view details of any property?
Since 3 December 1990 the public have been able to look at the register
of title (this includes title plans) in England and Wales. Prior to that, only registered owners
and people with the owner's permission could look at a register of title.
Land Register Online is the first service that has provided this
electronically to the public.
What is the file size?
- Average file size of title register data is 12Kb
- Average file size of title plan is 200Kb
We are unable to provide an average file size for a document. All documents that can be downloaded will be under 6Mb. The file size will be stated on the download results page for each PDF file.
What do I need to make an enquiry?
- The address of the property
- Adobe Acrobat Reader
- Valid credit/debit card
- A valid email address
- A printer (optional)
- A method of saving the files if you wish to view them on another
occasion (optional)
Do I have the right browser?
This website complies with the W3C XHTML 1.0 Standard and as such should be viewable by any browser which complies with this standard.

Do I have the correct software?
All details we supply (title register and title plan) are kept in PDF
format. To download PDF files you will need a recent version of
Adobe Acrobat Reader. You can download Adobe Acrobat Reader for free.

You may need to disable any anti pop-up software or any additional third party software as this may result in problems when downloading the PDF file.
What else do I need to know?
If you plan to make an enquiry, the fee is £3 for each title register and £3 for each title plan. Details of your debit or credit card will be required to complete the transaction.
If you wish to print any page - including the response to your
enquiry - check that your printer settings are on A4 format. You
can, of course, simply download and save responses.
